Job Title: Driver/Warehouse Operative

Location: Colchester

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Overview: An established supplier of industrial fastening products and services is looking for a Driver/Warehouse Operative to join its team. The role is essential to the company’s operations, supporting warehouse functions and customer deliveries. This is a dual role with approximately 50% of time spent in the warehouse and 50% on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all goods picked and booked match the relevant paperwork.
  • Receive, check, record, and store incoming stock.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Follow workplace health and safety guidelines when handling goods.
  • Adhere to operational procedures, rules, and schedules for efficient operations.
  • Participate in Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) using a handheld scanner (training provided).
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, either manually or with a forklift (training provided if needed).
  • Make customer-facing deliveries (this is not a multi-drop driving role).

Personal Qualities and Skills:

  • Trustworthy, enthusiastic, responsible, organized, and well-presented.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Friendly and approachable with a "One Team" approach to work.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse/stores environment is essential.
  • Experience in the fastener or C-Class component industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Forklift license is a plus, though training will be provided if needed.
  • Full driving license required with no more than 3 penalty points.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Honest, reliable, and punctual.

Additional Information:

  • Forklift training available.
  • Role involves a combination of warehouse duties and customer deliveries.
