JOB TITLE:   Supply Chain assistant

Purpose of the role:

To support the Supply Chain team with customs compliance and general supply chain duties

Salary range: £18k to £22k (dependent upon experience)

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the daily checking of customs entries and maintaining records of all entries.
  • Assist with providing clearance instructions
  • Assist with the monthly checking of HMRC MSS data and C79 VAT Certificate.
  • Raise disputes and seek amendments to customs entries where errors have been made.
  • Collect and collate commodity details and assist with maintaining an accurate and up to date database
  • Assisting the customs team with day-to-day queries.
  • Assist with efforts to improve existing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support of audits performed by the customs authorities and internal QA teams
  • Holiday / sickness cover for all areas of supply chain:
    • Sales order processing
    • Purchase order processing
    • Shipping

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
  • Accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and project skills.
  • Ability to prioritise between competing projects.
  • Willingness to learn about customs and international trade and develop new skills
  • Good team player with willingness to help out where needed to work towards team objectives.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders

Desirable:

  • A background in supply chain activities.
  • Experience of customs formalities.
  • Understanding of how to read and interpret HMRC tariffs.
  • Understand IP and OP.
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel – e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot tables
  • Knowledge / experience of AEO and associated requirements.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAGE X3 preferred)
  • Recognized Customs Qualification
