Salary: Negotiable dependent on skill set & experience 

Position: Goods Inwards & Inspection Controller 

Managing, prioritising, checking, and sorting all incoming deliveries of products for kitchen  manufacture. Responsible for entire department including stock and quality control. This role is essential to ensure a smooth workflow for all teams within a productive and well-established family business, manufacturing high quality kitchens and bedrooms.  

Main duties to include:

  • Unload and organise incoming deliveries
  • Check items to ensure correct item, size, quantity, colour, damage, and note missing items
  • Arrange reject paperwork for faults & shortages
  • Ensure products checked, labelled and relevant paperwork complete for next stage
  • Allocate products for relevant department at correct stages of process
  • Create monthly and weekly stock orders
  • Unload and organise stock and arrange paperwork for missing or incorrect items
  • Maintain stock levels in factory
  • Update stock list on daily basis
  • Measure and arrange order for glass in doors
  • Arrange paperwork and packages for collections

Additional duties:

  • Forklift driving for loading/unloading (own licence not essential, though should be willing to
  • take exams to obtain licence)
  • Packaging items ready for delivery
  • Yearly stocktake
  • Learn product knowledge
  • Learn to drill doors after settlement period
  • Any additional duties required as necessitated by the business
  • Essential qualities:
  • Physically fit and able to move and carry large & heavy items
  • Able to identify slight differences in colour and shade
  • Excellent ability to prioritise in a busy and challenging environment without assistance
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High ability to retain information and react accordingly

The applicant for this role will be organised, self-motivated, able to confidently make their own  decisions and judgements and be well disciplined with the ability to work on their own initiative. The  candidate should have good numeracy, literacy and communication skills, both verbal and written, in  addition to IT skills. They will be a good team-player, able to work well with factory and office colleagues and have a positive attitude. This is a long term, full time opportunity and the candidate should be willing to commit to our company and the team around them.
