Manager of Business Development

Location: Feering, Essex *DUE TO LOCATION, YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN TRANSPORT*

Reports to: Managing Director

Responsible for: Leading the Business Development team, driving growth initiatives, fostering client relationships, and collaborating with internal departments to expand the company’s commercial reach.

Role Overview:

Our client are a leading Partner in the Property & Facility Risk Management Services. We are assisting them with the hiring of a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to take ownership of expanding market opportunities and strengthening client engagement. This role is crucial in leading a high-performing team, identifying new business avenues, reactivating previous clients, and ensuring the company remains competitive within its sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Identifying and pursue strategic targets for commercial growth.
    • Create and achieve new business and roll out KPI’s
    • Lead your team in providing exemplary levels of client care and support, ensuring a high standard of service delivery with a consultative approach or style.
    • Lead the initial engagement and nurturing of relationships with new and existing clients to set the foundation for long-term partnerships.
    • Strategically manage accounts during the early stages, including re-engaging inactive clients and clients who are utilising only select services, in order to maximise business opportunities
    • Coordinate cross departmentally to ensure a smooth handover of relationships.
    • Work closely with the Marketing Department to create sales campaigns to position the company at the forefront of industry opportunities and participate in industry event to increase the profile of the business.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of engagements and opportunity pursuits.
    • Ensure IT systems are updated regularly with relevant client and contact data, maintaining its accuracy and  accessibility.
    • Provide insight and analysis of your Team.
    • Support and ensure compliance with subscribed standards and associated management systems (e.g., quality, environmental, safety).
    • Facilitate the response to any contractor applications, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and tender opportunities (etc), as needed.
    • Direct line management of the Business Development team
    • Set benchmarks and deadlines for the team, monitoring performance to consistently meet or exceed these targets.
    • Carry out any additional tasks within capability as required, directing the team’s efforts towards achieving company goals.
    • Encourage continuous learning and development within the team.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices and integrate them into business development strategie

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial growth within Property & Facility Risk Management Services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify revenue-driving opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to implement practical business growth initiatives.
