Job Description: Machinist

Title: Machinist
Location: Clacton-On-Sea
Salary: £16.00 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week

• Mon – Thu: 08:00 – 16:30
• Fri: 08:00 – 15:30

Purpose:

To perform machining tasks in preparation for the manufacture, service, and repair of company press tooling, as directed by the Toolroom Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health & Safety: Ensure complete adherence to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and practices.
• Machining Tasks: Execute machining operations to support the manufacture, service, and repair of company press tooling, following instructions from the department supervisor.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to company quality procedures to guarantee that tooling meets customer specifications.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and understand technical drawings to ensure accurate machining.
• Problem Solving: Apply analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Tool Assessment: Evaluate tooling following any instances of unplanned downtime to identify necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Software Proficiency: Possess a basic understanding of tool design and associated software packages.

• XYZ Mills
• Manual Mills
• Lathes
• Bridgeport CNC
• Surface Grinders

Training will be provided where required.

Internal Relationships:

• Toolroom Supervisor

Personal Profile / Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of machinist experience in a toolroom environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
