Estimator – Construction Industry

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing, distribution, and installation business that has been operating for over 20 years. Specializing in supplying major developers and contractors within the construction industry, this company thrives in a fast-paced environment, consistently adapting to evolving supply chains and client demands to remain a leader in its sector.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our client’s dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in pricing and specifying project enquiries, ensuring competitive quotes while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing project requirements and objectives
- Preparing accurate cost estimates by analyzing drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Sourcing and negotiating competitive pricing from suppliers
- Calculating costs for materials, transportation, labor, and other factors
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Ensuring all quotations reflect accurate pricing and product details
- Meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Ideal Candidate:
The successful applicant will have a background in the construction industry, particularly in estimating or cost analysis. Experience in the fire door sector is a plus, though full training will be provided.

- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Attention to detail with excellent analytical abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and numerical proficiency
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience using Sage is desirable
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and schedules
- Experience in subcontracting or related sectors preferred
Working Hours & Benefits:
- Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Requirements:
- GCSEs or equivalent (preferred)
- 1+ years of experience using Sage (preferred)
- 2+ years of administrative experience (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)
