Top Job Recruitment is working alongside our client in the Tendring area to recruit a CNC Operator with a background in pre-press to join their dynamic team. About the Role:
As a CNC Operator, you will play a key role in the production of brass plates, utilising ArtCAM and Carveco software to translate customer artwork files into high-quality products. The brass team requires individuals who are highly competent on computers and ideally experienced with artwork packages. You will accept files from the artwork team, process them using Carveco, and send the finished designs to the CNC machine.

You will be responsible for handling sheets of brass, cutting them with a bandsaw, and positioning them on the CNC machine to ensure the programme works accurately. Once finished, you will inspect the brass plates and cut them to the customer's requirements using bandsaws and linisher/belt sander tools. This is an active position that requires physical involvement throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will also include maintaining organised photographic records of completed dies and carrying out basic machine maintenance and cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer artwork files using ArtCAM and Carveco software
• Operate CNC machines to produce brass plates
• Cut brass sheets using bandsaws and position them on CNC machines
• Finish dies using bandsaws and linisher/belt sander tools
• Perform quality inspections on all completed products
• Maintain organised photographic records of finished products
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and cleaning
• Resolve any unexpected technical issues and liaise effectively with colleagues
• Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures
• Complete all quality control documents accurately

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience working in a pre-press or similar production environment
• Highly competent with computers and artwork packages
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently under pressure
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
