Fire Engineer
Location: Company Head Office ( Kelvedon)
Reporting to: Head of Field Operations

Our client, a leading organisation in fire safety and engineering, is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their operations team. This senior-level role is crucial in providing expert guidance on retrospective fire safety strategies and fire engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety evaluations, regulatory compliance, and tailored risk mitigation strategies for various building types.

Key Responsibilities:

Retrospective Fire Strategies

  • Develop, review, and implement fire safety strategies for existing buildings, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Identify and resolve fire safety deficiencies, proposing practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on fire safety challenges in heritage buildings, high-rise structures, and complex facilities.

Expert Advisory Services

  • Deliver high-level fire engineering consultation to clients.
  • Conduct detailed fire safety assessments, producing comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a technical expert on complex fire safety issues, including evacuation modelling, compartmentation, and fire safety system design.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Stay up to date with current legislation, national and international fire safety standards, and industry developments.
  • Ensure all strategies and recommendations adhere to relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ADB, BS 9997).
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to facilitate approvals for fire safety enhancements and mitigation measures.

Technical Leadership & Team Support

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety solutions effectively.
  • Support the Lead Fire Safety Consultant in implementing new services.
  • Research and introduce innovative fire safety technologies and methodologies.
  • Promote continuous improvement in fire engineering best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with clients to align fire safety objectives with operational and business goals.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
