Top Job are proud to be supporting the recruitment of a Catering Service Manager for a local company, overseeing 2 cafe's and a bar!

A salary of £35,000pa is on offer along with;

Our client is a charitable organisation based in Colchester, allowing you to utilise and expand on your preexisting skill set across both the commercial and charitable sides of the sector.

Along with the commercial cafe's and bar, the site also holds private events, parties and holiday clubs throughout the year, creating a truly dynamic and exciting role.

If you are an enthusiastic head chef or catering manager looking for a change of environment, focused on giving back to the community then this could be your next role!

You will need to be passionate about supporting, managing and developing busy catering outlets and staff teams, catering medium to large events, and happy to act as licensee for the bar.

Creating seasonal menus, sourcing local produce and effectively managing budgets is a high priority for the service to ensure that it can continue to provide charitable provisions to families within the local area.

You will have overall responsibility for the financial budget for both the bar and the cafe's including effective pricing to ensure maintenance of margins and managing costs.

You will directly line manage a staff team of chefs, cafe supervisors and casual staff including supervision and ensuring that safe food handling and provision practices are maintained at all times.

Who are we looking for?

  • An experienced chef or catering service manager
  • Someone with an understand and/or experience of budget management, meeting KPI's to maximise financial contributions to the charity
  • Experience engaging and leading a large staff team
  • Preferably someone with experience and/or holds a licensee for serving alcohol
  • Someone with an indepth knowledge of legislation surrounding the catering industry
  • Someone with good administrative skills including using Microsoft products
  • Someone with experience on providing excellent customer experience
  • Someone with excellent communication levels (both written and verbal)
  • Someone with great food knowledge with a creative approach to menu planning
  • Someone with effective project management skills
