Job Title: Assembly Operative

Location: Stanway, Colchester
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Friday (4pm finish Friday)

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of innovative solutions for wire and cable termination, is looking for a dedicated Assembly Operative to join their manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that produces high-quality hand tools, exported worldwide. Their products are manufactured, assembled, and tested in the UK under strict Quality Management Systems in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001.

Job Summary

As an Assembly Operative, you will play a key role in assembling and testing high-quality hand tools to meet stringent quality standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble hand tools and components following company standards and work instructions.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Operate various tools and machinery to assist with assembly.
  • Follow strict health and safety guidelines within the production environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Identify and report any defects or assembly issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist in packaging and dispatching of finished products as required.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing role is desirable  (full training will be provided).
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and dexterity with hand tools.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
